Rose is another version of Amal with better healing talents and a kinder heart. They sometimes share the same braincell, but for the most part she's usually the one calling him out on his shit. Their relationship is similar to that of bickering siblings, but the love is real and deep. Of all the Warriors of Light in Kaisou, she understands his heart the most. When Rose is lost, she knows she can turn to Amal for answers, because when they aren't being a comedy duo they actually understand one another.

Takame is a former Garlean conscript who suffered a lot of brutality and brainwashing. Stoic but kind. Personality wise, they couldn't be more different; Amal is the sun to his clouds. However, they both have a steely determination and an incurable stubbornness. Of all the Warriors of Light in Kaisou, Takame understands his loneliness the most. Amal dragged him out of hell and declared they were family, and nothing has been the same since.

Scintilla is yet another one of Amal's alternate selves who carries the braincell when he can't. He has a healthy amount of respect for her because of her strength, her taste (which is just as questionable as his own), and her red magic. Of all the Warriors of Light in Kaisou, she understands his free spirit the most. She carried Amal out of a bad situation when he was dying, and he owes her for that.

Lillian is a bit of an enigma. She's a Warrior of Light who was born in Kaisou after reincarnation, unlike the other transplants who tumbled out of a labyrinth. She's extremely impulsive, delightfully pink, and bloody violent. Of all the Warriors of Light in Kaisou, Lillian understands his competitive side the most. They don't know each other that well and she's Black Order, which he ought not to trust her for, but he'd totally kill some monsters with her if she asked.

Ghaleon has been Amal's roommate for a long time. Though he's a former villain, Amal doesn't really care. He's funny, easy to get along with, dependable, good-looking, and he also knows a lot of very useful magic. Somehow he's put up with Amal's antics for ages. Though they don't know each other intimately, they'd probably kill for each other without hesitation, which is a little terrifying when you think about it.

Varian and Amal have common threads running through their pasts. Though Varian is the source of a moderate amount of chaos, including an event that saw dinosaurs invading Kaisou, he is a smart and nice kid who just wants to help people. Sensing that Varian could be turned away from a path and saved from the things that made Amal get lost in the system, Amal took Varian under his wing pretty early on. Now, they're family-- the adoption papers have been signed. Amal calls him chingari, his little spark.

Fern, like Varian, has had a rough past. Including some thing where the grass demon that's part of him got loose and started possessing people? Amal doesn't think about it too hard. Varian and Fern are a set, do not separate, so when Varian became hunted by Zodiac, Amal of course took them both in. Amal will remain his guardian until it's no longer necessary. Amal gets Fern and his violent side because they both like to fight.

Amal first met Jun before Libra existed. Abel, Jun's father, kindly took Amal in while he didn't have a stable place to live. He cooked and cleaned until he was able to get a job, and then he began hopping around various couches until he landed a proper apartment. Abel is no longer on the app, but Amal is, and he's taken it as his personal responsibility to look after Jun kind of like an uncle or something. They sometimes completely clash, but Jun is a good earnest boy and Amal usually apologizes. He found out Jun was Shroud after coming to his rescue during the Qliphoth Tree event in October '22. Amal calls him chhoti pari, his little angel.

Elliot is an amazing healer, a gifted teacher, and probably one of the best musicians of his time. Amal already has a lot to respect him for. When Amal has a question about adulting, Elliot tends to be the one he goes to. It helps that Varian's wellbeing is something that connects them, as Elliot is his teacher at school.

When people see Nox and Amal together, they know chaos is about to ensue. They're two halves of one idiot. Their friendship started predictably as a couple of dudes being dudes and letting off steam, but it grew after that. They are both from similar backgrounds and were something like pariahs in their pasts (Nox's past life, Amal's current one). Amal once taught Nox's P.E. class how to pick locks because he thought it was a valuable life skill. Amal sees Nox as a dependable friend and a wonderful guy with a good head on his shoulders. Nox doesn't know this, but Amal looks up to him as the hero he can never be.

August and Amal have known each other a while. Amal goes to him for everything to do with clothes because he's a fashion plate, and August sighs at how stupid he is but puts up with his antics because Amal always, always brings treats for his familiars. Theirs is an easy banter, much like Nox and Amal, but with less bonehead.

Ana and Amal were among the first Otherworlders to arrive in Kaisou, even before the Libra app was released. They get along in the same way that mean girls get along, and enjoy dancing around feelings and things like that and just being generally catty and funny. They also flirt a little but it's understood that there's nothing actually romantic there, they're both just hot people and they know it. Ana left for a long time but recently tumbled back into his life, for which Amal is grateful. It isn't the same without the A to Z Clan.

Amal has complicated feelings about Sorey. On one hand, he is terrified of him (because the only thing that scares a god-killer is facing their feelings). On the other hand, Sorey has done a lot to help Varian and Amal through therapy. It's clear that more work needs to be done, but Amal appreciates him trying to help anyway. He knows he's broken. Sorey has come to realize he's something like a veteran who doesn't know the fighting is over. It's... a process.

They did a weird dance at first but have come to understand one another. However, Amal has a bad habit of being overly honest on the app and confessing to various crimes. If the body of Thordan ever shows up in Kaisou, Amal is pretty sure he's going to get jail time for killing the elf pope. Jusis may be Black Order, but Amal respects the guy and would trust him over just about anyone else in the Order he's run into.

Rean and Amal spoke a while back, then Rean fell off the app a while. Basically, Rean is the witness to several of Amal's dumb antics. They have a shared love of knives though (swords, really). Amal's also been cheering him and Elliot on relationship-wise.

Gilgamesh is attractive, wealthy, and just slick enough that Amal doesn't actually hate him. It's a little surprising. They flirt with each other because one hot bitch recognizes another, but theirs is mostly surface-level acquaintances for now. Amal would like to get to know him, though. The glimpses he's seen of his perspective are fascinating.

Waver is sassy and doesn't put up with Amal's antics, but that just makes Amal like him more. He's obviously got a heavy burden he doesn't like to share, though. Amal feels that Waver has seen a lot more than he lets on, and that he's kind of... tired of it all. He gets mad Thancred vibes from Waver basically. Because of that, Amal has no issue jumping in front of him and playing the hero if it means someone like Waver can avoid getting hurt.

Vash and Amal got along like a house on fire, which is to be expected since they both have similarly sunny personalities. However, Amal's a good touch more cynical at the end of the day, and he's just been hiding it; Vash may or may not be aware that he's a man of masks. They bonded with just one conversation, and Amal would totally help him out no questions asked if he needed it. Also, he takes good care of Varian, so he's great in Amal's book.

Zulius is a Queen after Amal's own heart. They first met because Zulius couldn't wear hot pants anymore and that was a waste of a good pair of hot pants. Naturally, Amal offered since he's got Eorzea's ass, and he put Zulius' name on the back for free advertising. He regularly incorporates them as part of his routine at Club Mana. Sometimes you just need a friend to have mai tais with. Also, Zulius owns a whole stage venue and Amal is a bard, so of course he's all over that.
